I was looking to purchase Shopping at Giant Foods: Chinese American Supermarkets in Northern California* by Alfred Yee and noticed that there's a 2003 and a 2013 edition. Some websites that listed the 2013 edition included "Scott and Laurie Oki Series in Asian American Studies" in the title. When I looked into it further, I found that Scott Oki is a philantropist, who previously worked as the senior vice-president of sales and marketing for Microsoft in the 1980's.
It appears that the Scott and Laurie Oki Endowed Fund provides grants for the publication of books for Asian American Studies. Here is a list of books under the Scott and Laurie Oki Series in Asian American Studies.
* I first came across this book when I was browsing the library at the California Historical Society. It looks like it's permanently closed now, but its collections have been transferred to Stanford University.
